Absolutely love this guy. Oozes class and deserved the applause he got yesterday. Lifted the place by another few notches. A midfield quartet of him, Lanzini, Song and kouyate just can't come soon enough. Dimitri Payet, Welcome back.

At least you never said 'he deserves his own thread'

Re: Dimitri
What have you seen of Song to suggest he deserves a place in our best quartet in from of either Obiang or Noble?

Re: Dimitri
Would this be the same Song that's shown no sort of form as yet?

Personally I can't see Song and Kouyate working as a pair.

I'm hoping song doesn't turn out to be the black Sergei rebrov

Have you actually seen Song play this season yet?

Re: Dimitri
Give it a rest croe. Only started a positive thread about a very special player. For what it's worth I think Song would link up very well with him.

Re: Dimitri
Easily the best footballer I've seen in a West Ham shirt. He played a sublime pass to Cresswell that created a chance for a goal. Fed Carroll and nearly created a goal. Fed Kouyate. He was only on for a little while! In between he's taken on 4 people in 3 tricks. Just breathtaking.

Not only does he make Joe Cole's ball skills looks second rate, he has the vision too. Better player than Di Canio too for me. I just cannot wait to see him play more.

Same here Ron.

Re: Dimitri
Payet makes me think that anything is possible when he's on te pitch. Only players who've made me feel that before were PDC and Tevez. Terrorises the opposition.

I'd be interested to hear paolos views on payet

Yep, the French would be insane not to take him to the Euros.

' Payet... Better player than Di Canio for me'

How old are you? 15?

Obviously you didn't see much of PDC. I did.

He was fucking INSANELY good at home games. Unbelievable footwork and trickery. People have short memories.

Re: Dimitri
Dimitri and PDC are totally different players. Both are crowd pleasers but Payet has something extra to him.

Favourite player for years. How good was the reception he got yesterday.

Re: Dimitri
I loved PDC, but Payet seems to do it home and away, and doesn't come across as if he could piss off the whole dressing room at any given moment.

If he maintains what I've seen from him so far, it is not stupid to at least have the debate as to who is the better of the two.

Re: Dimitri
Here's my take on the song debate for what it's worth. An in form song (ie last season is a great player) hence why Barcelona signed him. People are forgetting his just coming back from a long term injury, he never had a pre-season & so far very little playing time. Give him some game time & he'll come good again, class is permanent & form is temporary. Sure the game time his had his looked average at best, but it's easy to forget Nobles & Kouyate have had a few stinkers this year as well. Payet is class, but saying his better then Dicanio is a big statement!

Re: Dimitri
Payet has been excellent. A wonderful player.

You get frustrated with some players who panic in good situations or always pick the wrong option.....well he is the exact opposite. Nearly always picks the RIGHT option in each situation and is aware of where everyone is before the ball even reaches him. Add that to his technical ability and you can see why he has been so successful.
